Cross Platform Gaming Petition

We advance a view, that everybody should be able to play with eachother, irrespective which Gaming console you own. Cross Platforming is the magical word. This idea is in our heads since a long time and it isn´t new (for Example Beispiel Street Fighter IV). That Cross Gaming is possible, was shown with Shadowrun (PC+Xbox 360) and this game was released in late May 2007. The whish to play together was born, when a few coworkers and I talked about Red Dead Redemption in our office. Here we noticed the first Problem really fast. We all play on different Platforms. A few guys can play together, but not all of us. This really sucks …

At the moment we have three Xbox 360 and five PlayStation 3 devices. How wonderful would it be, if we could combine this gaming machines, to fight a Four-on-Four-Match! You can say now, that there are enough Online-Player on both Platforms, but be honest. It is more fun to play with People you know in real Life. Ein Connection between Microsofts Xbox and Sonys PlayStation would be only in our interest, it is a definite Enrichment for the Community of every Game, that is and will be released on both Platforms. We don´t know if there will be a Cooperation between this two Game-Giants. Maybe a third Party is needed? Now you know our Reason for this Petition.

The Game

Red Dead Redemption is the Game of this Year! The Creators from GTA have done really good work, that is inspiring Players at the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The former Outlaw Mr. Marston has to find his old Friends for the Goverment. They convinced him by holding his Family captive, as long as they needed his Cooperation. This is a really good Story, which will take all your attention. These days we also have the right Temperatures, so our ride trough Mexiko is covered with our own sweat.

For Red Dead Redemption, but also for much other Games, we would like to play with all Gamers at this Planet. The Barriers between the Platforms have to fall, so that we could get in touch with the whole Community. Once this Task is finished, there will be new Possibilities for the Players. Contests and Statistics for  instance.

The Platforms

Red Dead Redemption is awailable on two Systems right now. Both of these Platformes have many Players, which have left the Single-Player-Campaign behind them. They are fighting at the different Multi-Player-Modes, but only on their own Platform. Playing against the Computer isn´t hard, having a Shoot-out against real Opponents is much harder.

At Microsofts Xbox 360 you have to pay to play online. This is not so bad, but it maybe a Barrier for some People. The Gold Membership for 12 months is about fifty Euros. If you count this down to one Month, you pay 4,20 Euro. That´s not very much, but it is even not for free. Silver and Gold Membership is dividing the Players an the X360 already. Who wants to play alone, is allowed too, but who wants the extra Features and Online-Services has to buy Gold.

Sony makes no difference at his Players. Every owner of a PlayStation 3 can play online with all the other Gamers. This is an argument for the PlayStation 3. In addition there is a Blu-ray drive, which gives you a full-working Blu-ray Player to you Nex-Gen  Console.

The Idea

We want to fight for the Whish of Cross Platform Gaming. With our example Red Dead Redemption we wan´t to show, how much the Community will grow and which advantages there will be. Wouldn´t it be nice, if all PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Players could spend their spare time together? At the moment everbody is playing at his own lawn, without the possibility to play with his Brothers in Games. It is Time to play together, it is Time to discover the Virtual Worlds together. Please help us with signing this Petition, and maybe someday soon we can be one big Community!

The guys with the Idea

The Idea to this Petition was born in Berlin in June 2010. We talked about the Game Red Dead Redemption and how cool it is. Even if we have different Platforms, we want to play together. Not only this Summer, but also in our Future.
